• Day 1: Arrival in Maun & Gateway to the Delta – Your African adventure begins upon arrival at Maun International Airport. A representative from Okavango Exploration Safaris will meet you and transfer you to your comfortable local lodge for the evening. Spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool or exploring the bustling safari town of Maun as you prepare for the journey ahead.
• Day 2: Maun to Moremi Game Reserve (Xakanaxa) – After an early breakfast, leave civilisation behind as we travel by 4x4 into the Moremi Game Reserve, specifically the world‑renowned Xakanaxa area. Arrive at your private mobile tented camp in time for a fresh lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive to explore the mopane woodlands and floodplains.
• Day 3: Exploring the Heart of Xakanaxa – Spend a full day uncovering the diverse ecosystems of Xakanaxa, where deep waterways meet dry land. This area is famous for incredible leopard and wild dog sightings, as well as massive herds of elephant and buffalo.
• Day 4: Xakanaxa to Khwai Concession by Mokoro – Today we move deeper into the Okavango ecosystem, travelling to the wildlife‑rich Khwai Concession. On arrival, swap the safari vehicle for a traditional mokoro (dugout canoe). Gliding silently through the crystal‑clear channels allows you to appreciate the Delta’s intricate water network, colourful reed frogs and breathtaking birdlife from water level.
• Day 5: Predators and Plains of Khwai – A full day dedicated to the Khwai Concession. Because Khwai lies just outside the formal reserve boundaries, it offers incredible flexibility. Enjoy a rewarding morning game drive along the Khwai River, where hippos wallow and lions frequently come down to drink.
• Day 6: Khwai to Savuti (Chobe National Park) – Say goodbye to the wetlands as we head north into the starkly beautiful, contrasting landscapes of Savuti. Known for its dramatic predator dynamics, ancient baobab trees and the mysterious Savuti Channel, this region promises high‑octane wildlife viewing.
• Day 7: The Legendary Savuti Marsh – Spend the day tracking Savuti’s famous resident lion prides and spotted hyena clans. We’ll explore the vast Savuti Marsh and volcanic hills, keeping a sharp eye out for cheetah, leopard and majestic elephant bulls.
• Day 8: Savuti to the Chobe Riverfront – Today we continue north to the lush Chobe Riverfront, an area world‑famous for the densest concentration of African elephants on the continent. Reach your final mobile campsite and enjoy a late afternoon drive along the river, where you can watch hundreds of elephants bathing and drinking.
• Day 9: Chobe to Kasane & Sunset Boat Cruise – Enjoy one last morning game drive through Chobe National Park as we make our way to the town of Kasane. Check into your comfortable lodge and enjoy a brief rest. At 2:45 pm, board a specialised riverboat for an iconic afternoon Chobe River cruise. Watch elephants swimming across the river, spot pods of hippos and raise a toast to an unforgettable safari against a spectacular African sunset.
• Day 10: Farewell – Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge before checking out. Your unforgettable journey ends with a seamless transfer to Kasane International Airport for your return flight home.
